A wonderful early 19th century German patinated bronze candleabra. The bearded figure has a water flask, hunting bag and wild fowl hanging from belt. He is supporting removable twin candleholders. The candleabra is not marked, dates to around 1830. The model for this is derived from those produced in Nuremberg in C. 1500, such as that in the Metropolitan Museum, inventory #. 1982.60.118.119. This is a very heavy piece weighing just over 5 lbs. Measuring 9.25″ high, 6″ wide and 5.5 deep. The condition is excellent with only minor age related wear. The nuts on bottom are original.
