Incredibly, Rare Circa 1860s lead faceted butterfly Christmas Ornament. Beautifully detailed and handmade and in exceptional condition as shown. This is the earliest of Antique German lead Christmas ornaments and handmade by the Germans. This is a true period example, as you can clearly see from the pictures. The detailed look of the front and back of the ornament really shows the earliest of craftsmanship. This butterfly is fairly large, measuring approximately 4.25 in length and beautifully colored. Still has its remnants of the original hook as pictured. It’s just a really nice scarce piece.
