Antique Early 20th Century German Porcelain Figurine Carl Schneider Gräfenthal. This product data sheet is originally written in English. Early 20th Century’s porcelain figurine depicting a lady playing the piano accompanying a gentleman playing the violin. The mark in blue on the bottom is a crown and two horizontal bars over a “G” with “1859” below. It says’G’ for Gräfenthal, a town in Thuringia, East Germany. This mark has been used from 1886 onwards. The addition of ” Foreign”, in one side of the figurine, dates the figurine between 1920/1940. The company was started out as’Porzellanfabrik Unger, Schneider & Cie’ factory in 1859. It went through various mergers and changes of ownership. In 1886 it became the Carl Schneiders Erben factory, however continued with the Gräfenthal name and mark. In good conditions with minor signs of wear and only one small imperfection on the pianist back (shown in the last photo). The girl has light brown hair and eyes and is wearing a dress with white sleeves, a green bodice, and a white skirt with green and maroon flowers and green, gold and maroon scallops. She has maroon encrusted flowers in her left hand and her right hand hovers above the head of a small sheep. With encrusted white flowers around the base. The man has grey hair with brown eyes. He has a grey hat in his left hand a a flower in his right hand. There is a brown and white dog at his left side. Matching white encrusted flowers. Both figures have a gold gilt pseudo Chelsea anchor mark. Probably made in Germany. Both figures have numerous chips to the encrusted flowers. The flower in the gentleman’s hand and two of his fingers have been broken off and glued back on. The girl’s left pinky finger has been broken off. The girl measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide x 6 3/4 inches tall. The man measures approximately 4 3/4 inches wide x 6 7/8 inches tall. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the pieces.

Early 19th Century Needlepoint Letter Folder German 1805 Flowers Roses
This rare early 19th Century letter folder/portfolio is German and features very fine needlepoint of roses on the front and a bouquet of various colorful flowers on the back. It is monogramed JCC and dated September 14th, 1805 (which may be a birthday). Measures 9″ x 14″ when closed. The lining has two silk pockets and there are four silk ribbons to tie it together. There is staining throughout the piece and a red mark inside one of the pockets. The backing boards have warped slightly and the piece does not sit flat. Please See All Pictures.
