Antique doll, 17 1/2 tall, bisque head with ball jointed composition body, and jointed wrists with smallish metal hands. Marked only “C”, for Cassel Doll Factory, Germany. Someone generously told me more about her! Cassel Doll co bought parts from Sonneberge & Walterhawsen, and the heads were made by Kestner and others. Very pretty bisque face, blue sleep eyes, open mouth with 4 teeth, pierced ears and a blonde wig. Notice that the eye holes were not cut the same. Ball jointed composition body, with jointed wrists. 1 hand has some flaked paint, showing the metal, and the other looks like it’s had the paint restored. Feet have just slight wear. There is a small crack in her tush, and I don’t know what’s up with the old streaky varnish on her torso. Bisque head excellent, no damage or repairs there. She’s wearing a nice old blue check dress with chemise & pantaloons underneath. The dress is a bit faded.
