Antique German Silver Hand Chased Coffee Pot Possibly City of Frankfurt, Early 19th Century. Of pear shape, spirally fluted form, further hand chased with raised overlapping bands of strap-work ornaments with four plain design oval form medallions interlaced with scroll-work foliage & engraved leaf sprays, hinged cover of fluted dome shape matching strap-work and scrolling design with baluster form chased finial with’C’ scrolls & fruit décor & wide rim. Of good weight and solid workmanship, double scroll Rococo carved ebony handle. Short covered spout cast & chased with scroll-work sprays, the coffee pot standing upon low circular base. Overall very good condition, minor pin-pointed marks, tarnishing, some scratches, interior not cleaned, not monogrammed, no large dents. Marked: possibly hallmarked for the city of Frankfurt, maker’s mark. Height 10 1/4 in. Total Weight 755 grams.
