Antique Rare 11-1/2 Paper Mache Early Milliner Model Doll
Offering this early antique Milliner model German doll. Paper Mache head with early hairstyle with leather original body and carved wood arms and legs. Dating to mid 19th century this doll represents a model doll that would have showcased a sample dress to be seamstress made for a lady and the doll was given as a giveaway with the dress on her. The dolls were then given to the children as a keepsake. Quite fragile, they often did not survive and usually come with make do repairs. Wonderful early antique doll to add to any antique collection. Please see pictures for details and measurements.

Made for French market DEP C model 18.5 47 cm. , beautifully dressed as Bebe Bru. Bisque socket head, brown glass working sleepy eyes (similar to French Jumeau eyes), dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth with accented lips, 4 porcelain upper teeth, impressed dimple on her chin, pierced ears, blonde French human hair wig in long ringlet curls. Composition and wooden ball-jointed body stringing is good. Condition: very good, please refer to photos. Her vintage outfit is in good condition. Marks: C S&H DEP. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1900. Gorgeous cabinet size doll and ready for display! Unsure if steam engine is DC Doll or Ernst made, one of the two. Needs an extra screw to retie the furnace down. Furnace on back left side has a dent shown in pictures. This came from an avid collector’s estate. Part of me thinks he may have repainted this at one point as I can only find the original wheels in Red, although at the same time it doesn’t quite look like he did if that makes sense! Its a antique wall clock and little damages or old wormholes normal….. Antique clocks are not new clocks! Nevertheless there could be a little difference in color depending on your screen settings and tiny scratches in surface. All offered clocks are cleaned and adjusted with a lot of care, but after transport a little re-adjustmend could be possible.
