Offering this early antique Milliner model German doll. Paper Mache head with early hairstyle with leather original body and carved wood arms and legs. Dating to mid 19th century this doll represents a model doll that would have showcased a sample dress to be seamstress made for a lady and the doll was given as a giveaway with the dress on her. The dolls were then given to the children as a keepsake. Quite fragile, they often did not survive and usually come with make do repairs. Wonderful early antique doll to add to any antique collection. Please see pictures for details and measurements.
Antique bisque shoulder-head doll by Louis Herman Bonvoisin. Marked L. H. B. 4, Made in Germany. Kid leather body with composition limbs. Original (or at least old enough) mohair wig. Blue glass sleep eyes, and she’s a wee bit crosseyed! I’m not sure if she was made that way, or if they were replaced. The shoulder-head is not attached to the body, and I cleaned up the remaining glue residue around the bottom and top from the wig. She has a hairline on the right shoulder, and a small chip in the back bottom corner, neither would really show if she were put together and dressed. No wear on her fingers or toes, but a few age crackles in the composition. The thread holding her arms on is a bit loose, so a little mending there would help. She’s wearing 3 lace-edged petticoats and bloomers. Really an unusual doll, and in a nice large size! Please check my other listings! I’ll be listing the estate of a doll collector! From a non-smoking home.

She has her original stamped body but it has been repainted. She has a few scuffs and cracks on her body. She has antique pantaloons, a petticoat, plaid wool dress with silk ribbons, antique brown socks and vintage black shoes. Please review all photos and ask questions.
An early antique dinner plate beautifully and entirely hand painted with insects and flowers and gold. The plate is early, heavy hard paste porcelain and my best guess is that it is French, but it could also be German. It is signed on the back but I don’t know this mark. The plate is just over 9.25 inches diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no fleabites, no repairs, just some light wear to the decoration. Please see the photos for details. Thank you for looking! Track Page Views With.
