The company founded in 1883 from the partnership of Paul Landenberger and Philip Lang in Schramberg, Germany. Originally called Landenberg and Lang, became the Hamburg American Uhrenfabric (HAU/HAC) in 1891. Landenberg previously worked as business manager for Junghans. In 1930 HAC merged with Junghans.
